Parents, guardians and school council members come join us on Saturday, November 18th at 8:30 a.m. as we celebrate this year’s Parent Conference and School Council Training Day. Participants will have the opportunity to attend three workshops focusing on everything from managing emotions to helping your child succeed. The day is designed to encourage discussion, embrace new ways of doing things and networking with your neighbours. There is no cost or fee to participate in this conference. Free parking is available behind the school.
Keynote Speaker – Dr. Karyn Gordon
Dr. Gordon is one of North America’s leading relationship/parenting experts, a best-selling author, a media personality, motivational speaker and founder of dk Leadership. Her mission is to inspire people to dream their best life, learn the tools and do it!
She will be joining us as our keynote speaker, talking about Emotional Intelligence. Looking at developing strategies for staying calm and focused when faced with challenging situations in parenting and in life.
Dr. Gordon is passionate about teaching Success Principles (Emotional Intelligence / Emotional Quotient including:Motivation, Time Management, Organization, Confidence, Communication & Career Direction) to develop thriving relationships at home (with ourselves; parents & kids/teens; husbands & wives).
Workshops
Workshops will cover a variety of themes including Physical Health and Well-Being, Learning, Special Education and School Council Training.

Please note: Continental breakfast will be provided. There is no lunch provided. This is an environmentally friendly, Lug-A-Mug event. Water bottle refill stations available in school.
This conference is an initiative of the Parent Involvement Committee, with the support of the OCDSB, the Special Education Advisory Committee, Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils and the Ministry of Education’s Parents Reaching Out Grant.
